Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Reader in Civil/Structural Engineering (Grade 7/8/9)

University of Liverpool - Civil Engineering and Industrial Design

Applications are welcome from those with an excellent recognised experimental research background in civil engineering, structural engineering, or the wider built environment. You will have research experience in an academic environment, including the publication of influential papers in leading academic journals and a record of attracting external research funding from a range of sources. The two themes of “Digital” and “Creativity” are central to the development of our future teaching and research. Therefore candidates who can actively contribute to our new “Centre for the Digital Built Environment” will be favourably assessed. Candidates with broader interests in risk and resilience applied to civil infrastructure or the development and use of emerging sustainable materials or digital manufacturing techniques in the construction industry are also welcome to apply. Your enthusiasm in your research should be accompanied by an interest in lecturing and teaching, and it should be demonstrable that your teaching has enhanced creativity within student experience. You should have a PhD in a relevant discipline, or relevant industrial experience. Teaching commitments can be expected at both undergraduate and postgraduate level with contributions to the departments current and future degree programmes.
