Education Supervisor - General Practice Pharmacy Training Pathway Phase 2 (2 posts available for 0.4FTE, 7 posts available for 0.6FTE)

We have exciting and unique opportunities for talented, experienced pharmacists to join the team delivering the General Practice Pharmacist Training Pathway which support the NHS England programme for clinical pharmacists in general practice. 

The General Practice Forward View committed to over £100m of investment to support an extra 1,500 clinical pharmacists to work in general practice by 2020/21. This is in addition to over 490 clinical pharmacists already working across approximately 650 GP practices as part of a pilot, launched in July 2015.

CPPE has been awarded the contract to deliver the training pathway for clinical pharmacists in general practice until 2020/21 following the success of our education pathway for the 490 clinical pharmacists on the pilot. 

We are recruiting education supervisors in the following areas: Please State on application your preferred area.

Education Supervisor – 0.4FTE (2 posts)

West Yorkshire – Bradford, Leeds and York area
Greater Manchester
South Midlands – Leicester, Peterborough & Northampton area
South Central – Oxford, Newbury and Reading area

Education Supervisor – 0.6FTE (7 posts)

North Midlands – Sheffield, Chesterfield area
North Midlands – Derby, Nottingham area

You should be a great communicator, have experience in facilitating learning, have a good understanding of the future of pharmacy and be aware of current policy within the NHS.

When you complete the additional information of your application, use these headings to structure the essential information that we will score your application against. Describe your strengths, challenges and evidence in the following areas:

  • Developing learning and assessment at postgraduate level
  • Delivering learning and assessment at postgraduate level
  • Your experience of GP practice work
  • Managing the learning of others including feedback, support and action/learning planning
  • Developing and maintaining a network (pharmacy and multidisciplinary)
  • Supporting change and effective time management

We will provide essential training to help you settle in as part of the team and to equip you to lead learning events and provide education supervision for clinical pharmacists. Successful candidates who do not hold a certificate of education or teaching proficiency qualification will be expected to complete or education recognition scheme. You will be expected to travel across England to facilitate learning and attend meetings.

Successful candidates will be required to attend the following training:

Facilitation skills Wednesday 7 – Friday 9 February 2018 location: Coventry
Induction day, TBC, Location: Manchester
Clinical pharmacists in GP - Phase 2 introduction 23 January 2018 Location: London
Personal skills training 31 January 2018 & 01 February 2018 Location: London
