A post-doctoral position is available to produce a metabolic model involving the components involved in cell envelope synthesis for gram negative organisms. The project will build on an existing model encompassing Lipid A and phospholipid synthesis for the model organism Escherichia coli. This industry led project will use both traditional biochemical and microbiological methods coupled with cutting-edge computational modelling techniques. The successful candidate will be based alongside Dr J George at Leeds Beckett University and will have access to the newly opened centre for biomedical research.

Suitable candidates should have a strong background in computational biology (preferably metabolic modelling) and have a solid basis in biochemistry.
