Summary of Job Purpose and Principal Duties

 (£33,131- £49,091 per annum) Closing Date: 30 October 2017

Applications are invited from Radiology specialty trainees with outstanding potential to develop into a clinical academic leader. This post will provide clinical training in Radiology, along with an excellent opportunity to develop a research portfolio.

The post is part of the Scottish Clinical Research Excellence Development Scheme. It is available to candidates who already hold a National Training Number in the relevant specialty. The successful applicant will be expected to transfer to an East of Scotland NTN, and will hold an honorary clinical appointment as a Specialty Trainee in Radiology.

The lectureship is for the duration of remaining specialty training, i.e. up to 5 years, and the postholder will spend 20% of their time developing a relevant research programme. Research activities will be based in the University of Dundee’s Division of Cancer Research, at the Ninewells Hospital & Medical School site.

Sub specialty training will be encouraged in line with the research topic chosen. As per RCR recommendation, the successful candidate will be expected to maintain core general radiology skills. They would be expected to take part in the general radiology on-call.

Summary of Skills, Experience and Qualifications

MBChB or equivalent is essential, applicants must be eligible for full registration of the GMC at time of appointment and hold MRCOG Part 1.
