Research Associate

University of Sheffield - Animal & Plant Sciences

Contract Type: Fixed-Term for 36 months
Faculty: Faculty of Science

Summary of role:

We seek a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work with Prof Ben Hatchwell (PI) on a three-year NERC funded project to investigate the causes and consequences of dispersal decisions in social birds. The project will use long-term data from a 24-year study of a cooperatively bird, Aegithalos caudatus, combined with field observations and experiments, and mathematical models.

You will have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline and experience of ecological research. This is an ideal opportunity to join the PI’s established and productive research group in a large high profile department with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research (Biological Sciences at Sheffield was ranked 5th in UK in REF 2014).
