Post-doctoral Research Assistant in the Development of Photosensitiser Synthesis and Purification Methods – 1 year fixed term

We are seeking to recruit a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant (PDRA) for 1 year on an industrially-funded project concerned with the production of a pure light-activated antimicrobial compound. The project involves heterocyclic synthesis, chromatographic purification, stability studies, standard analyses and initial scale-up investigation. The project is a collaboration between LJMU and an industrial partner in Canada.

You should have, or be expecting soon to obtain, a Ph.D. with a strong background in heterocyclic synthesis and analysis, preferably related to photosensitisers, as well as experience of HPLC and ICP-MS. Knowledge of ICH regulation would also be advantageous. In addition, an ability to analyse data, communicate information in oral and written form and a willingness to assist day-to-day running of the project are essential.
