Electro-Mechanical Experimental Officer

Applications are invited for this Experimental Officer position with direct responsibility for providing technical guidance and support to the student and teaching needs of the Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (IMEE) degree programme. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of technical skills in the areas of electronic and PCB design, embedded system programming, real-time controller development and sensor/actuator selection and development. These skills will apply to both established and developing projects in areas including robotics, UAVs, autonomous vehicles and smart structures.  

Applicants will require a degree qualification in Electronic or Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or an equivalent related subject together with demonstrable practical experience relating to the aforementioned disciplines in addition to in depth knowledge of electronics software systems eg. Matlab, LabView, C++ etc. Knowledge of rapid prototyping technologies and familiarity with open source hardware systems would be an advantage.

This full time post is offered on an open ended contract at a commencing salary of £25,728 per annum, rising to £31,604 per annum through annual increments.
