You will register for PhD study, while employed by the University of Liverpool through the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network ACOUTECT ( to carry out research developing prediction models to inform engineering design on sound and structure-borne sound transmission in lightweight buildings, particularly from machinery and impacts from people.

You will have an MSc or MEng in acoustics, engineering, building physics, or physics, or a first class BEng or BSc in one of these topics. Experience with structure-borne sound, vibroacoustics, vibration, finite element modelling, Matlab and signal processing for acoustics would be advantageous.
