Teaching Fellow in French Studies (Seventeenth Century Literature)

The Department of French at UCL offers BA degrees in French and in French with Film Studies, along with a number of degrees combining French with other languages at SELCS, and other subjects (such as History of Art and Philosophy).

The post holder will be expected to teach and assess courses in French Literature in particular seventeenth century literature, namely FREN1102, FREN2104, FREN4118. The post holder will be expected to participate in Departmental events and contribute to the intellectual life of the department.

The successful candidate will be expected to take up the position on 1 January 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The post is fixed-term for 5 months in the first instance and part-time for 10.04 hours per week (27.5% FTE).

The post holder will have expert knowledge in the area of Seventeenth Century French Studies, and be completely fluent in French and in English. Applicants should ideally have a PhD in a relevant field, and must have teaching experience at a higher educational institution. Experience of teaching at undergraduate level and other forms of public presentation is essential, as well as having the ability to supervise academic work by undergraduates.
