This post is funded by ERDF via the FCE programme and is available from 1 November 2017 until 28 February 2020 to support the work of Professor David Zhang.

The project will be developing a software package prototype for building an integrated supervision, control and simulation platform for smart and flexible control of digital manufacturing system.

The post will include collaborating with our industry and academic partners, conducting high quality applied research and software development, assistance with supervision of MSc students as well as developing new grant applications in similar research fields.  The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes.
