Retail Cafe Manager - AD2083ML

We are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Retail Cafe Manager to ensure effective and sustainable retail activities are carried out within catering outlets, facilitating revenue generation through hands-on support of marketing initiatives and projects, and to support and develop a retail culture throughout the University.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the café offering and to provide a first class retail experience to our customers
  • To drive footfall and customer participation within all of our café offerings
  • Management of all retail catering outlets
  • Ensuring retail display and merchandising standards are developed, implemented, understood and maintained
  • Ensuring effective use of marketing and retail tools - sales boards, style guide, promotional tool kits to achieve financial performance
  • Developing a rolling marketing activity plan to deliver tangible revenue generation and financial contribution.
  • Full participation in corporate promotions such as Healthy Eating, Fairtrade, etc.
  • Agreeing a calendar of relevant promotional activities to drive participation and sales for the outlets
  • Regular reporting and review with Central Management team
  • Overseeing and implementing front of house incentive schemes
  • Train and develop the retail team to provide an innovative and creative café offering within all of our café business
  • Develop customer feedback mechanism that allow regular feedback and action plans to be developed

You should hold a qualification in Retail Management or equivalent and have food service/catering and retail operational experience within a commercial or high street environment.  You will need a passion for service and quality, excellent customer and people management skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the business.
