Molecular Epidemiologist in Large Prospective Studies of Nutritional, Metabolic and Genetic Biomarkers and Chronic Disease

Based within the Nuffield Department of Population Health, the Cancer Epidemiology Unit (CEU) seeks to provide large-scale reliable evidence on the relationships between common exposures and common conditions of public health importance such as prostate, breast, and colorectal cancers, cardiovascular disease and bone health.

We have an opportunity for an Epidemiologist to join CEU, working on data from large cohorts such as UK Biobank and EPIC. You will focus on the use of epidemiological data on biomarkers and genetic factors to investigate the relationships of nutritional and other lifestyle factors with cancer and other chronic diseases. Your main responsibilities will involve analysing data, preparing tables and reports and contributing to articles for publication.

To be considered for this role you will have a PhD in epidemiology, molecular epidemiology or a related subject or equivalent experience. You will also have experience in analysing and interpreting biomarker and/or genetic data from epidemiological studies as well as working knowledge of statistical software such as STATA.
