This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hard-working nurse to support clinical research in asthma and COPD. The appointee will work closely with five existing Research Nurses and Professors Pavord and Bafadhel and Dr Richard Russell, Senior Clinical Research fellow, leading projects held both at the Churchill Hospital and the John Radcliffe Hospital and assisting in studies from primary care.

The appointed nurse will have the opportunity to learn about new techniques to assess symptoms, airway function and airway inflammation and will have the opportunity to perform these assessments in research volunteers. They will have additional responsibilities including the coordination of more detailed investigations in patients with unusual patterns of disease, recruitment into research projects and for interested applicants an opportunity to develop a specific research area and, if interested, to work towards a higher degree.

To be considered for this position you should be a Registered Nurse and be educated to degree level or evidence of equivalent academic experience. You should have thorough understanding of the current requirements of Good Research Governance and the rights of individuals participating in clinical research protocols, or willingness to undergo training in these areas.
