Employee Communications Adviser

Are you passionate about effective two-way communication and improving employee engagement? Do you have technical knowledge and an understanding of key communications channels and content, including social media and websites?

Human Resources is offering this unique and exciting opportunity to join the team, working alongside the Assistant Director - Resourcing & Employee Communications.

A key priority for you in this role will be the recently developed annual staff engagement survey which is an important feedback mechanism for Kent employees. In addition to this, you will use a variety of communication tools to ensure that staff have an understanding of the benefits and impact of HR activities that affect them.

This position is offered as on-going and part-time (28 hours per week) with the working pattern to be discussed with the successful candidate.

As Employee Communications Adviser you will:

  • Plan and execute ad-hoc or special communication initiatives and campaigns on specific HR work streams or projects.
  • Provide internal communications support and advice to HR managers and HR staff on best practice in communications.
  • Co-ordinate the University's annual staff engagement survey, in collaboration with colleagues across the HR directorate.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Relevant and recent communications experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise and engaging written material.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and superior grasp of grammar, spelling and editorial composition.
  • The adaptability and flexibility in your approach to adjust your workload priorities to meet strict deadlines.
