Research Fellow

University of East Anglia - Norwich Medical School

Part-time (60%fte) post offered on a fixed-term basis from 1st January 2018 to 30th June 2020.

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to implement and coordinate our Alzheimer’s Research UK funded, four centre (Norwich, Newcastle, Birmingham, Aberdeen) MedEx project. The research programme has three components, including the retrospective analysis of data from two epidemiological studies and a clinical trial, which will examine the impact on cognition of dietary change with or without physical activity. The post holder will significantly contribute to research design and implementation and the coordination of staff at the other centres. 

The post will be predominately based at the University of East Anglia in the Norwich Medical School, but will require regular visits to the other three centres and will involve travel between the four national centres and some early morning starts to accommodate volunteer clinical visits.

Applicants must have a degree and PhD in Nutritional or Behavioural Sciences or other relevant academic discipline, and have experience in the design, implementation and management of clinical trials. A track record in food and nutrient composition and the delivery of a food/bioactive or physical activity interventions would also be an advantage.

The post holder will be subject to an enhanced criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
