Professor/Reader in Geography

University of Huddersfield - School of Applied Sciences

The School of Applied Sciences seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, ambitious individual to Professor or Reader in physical or human geography. You will hold a PhD in a relevant area and your track record should indicate an international research profile that includes sustained funding commensurate with appointment to Chair or Reader in your research area, combined with an excellent record of publications and/or research of demonstrable impact. You will be expected to maintain your research productivity, but also to contribute teaching to new BSc programmes in Geography, Physical Geography, and Human Geography.

Provision of geography is part of a significant portfolio expansion within Applied Sciences and more widely across our TEF-gold rated University. In addition to staff already in post and concurrent with this advert, we are also seeking to complete another three research-active academic appointments in relevant areas of geography. To complement areas of existing research strength, we are particularly pleased to hear from applicants with research interests in the areas of earth sciences, ecology, or human geography.

The School is committed to Athena SWAN principles and the promotion of equality and diversity and is proud to hold a Bronze Athena SWAN Award.
