A Research Fellow position is available to support experimental research in the field of laser cooling and quantum degenerate gases within the Durham Atomic and Molecular Physics group. The position is associated with a new five-year Programme Grant awarded by the UK Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) focused on the development of Quantum Science with Ultracold Molecules (see www.qsum.org.uk) and will contribute directly to the development of two new experiments in the field of ultracold atomic and molecular physics.

The successful applicant will work directly with Prof. Simon Cornish and other members of the research group and will be expected to take an active role in the operation and development of the experiments. Additionally, they will be expected to enhance the profile of the research group through the attendance of international conferences and to assist in the guidance of graduate students working on the experiments.

The post is full time and fixed term for an initial duration of 24 months.
