Research Assistant in Perceptions of Industrial Carbon Dioxide Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS)

The University of Edinburgh - College of Science and Engineering, School of Geosciences

We seek a social scientist Research Assistant to work on the ALIGN Accelerating CCS Technologies project. The ALIGN project is a large project involving the UK, Netherlands, Germany, Norway and Romania. It is exploring the potential for CO2 capture, utilisation and/or storage (CCUS) from industrial facilities (steel manufacturing and cement production). This part of the work is exploring social perceptions of CCUS from industrial facilities in the UK, while working closely with partners in the other countries. Methods include surveys, statistical analysis, interviews and discussion groups. This post is to assist in the implementation of the research and analysis of the results.

The post is full time and fixed term for 21 months and is available 1st December 2017.  We welcome discussions on part-time work, e.g. it could be undertaken at 60% or 80% of FT.

The School aims to ensure equality of opportunity and holds an Athena SWAN Silver award. We welcome applications from everyone irrespective of gender or ethnic group. As women and members of ethnic minorities are currently under-represented in posts at this level we particularly encourage applications from members of these groups. We also welcome applications from those who would like to consider part-time and/or flexible working. Appointment will be based on merit alone.

Closing Date: Friday 27th October 2017 at 5pm (GMT)
