The Network Support and Development team within the University of Oxford’s IT Services Department is seeking a gifted and resourceful Unix Systems Administrator.

The team is responsible for all aspects of running the University’s digital voice and data backbone networks. It is part of the Network and Data Centres Group that runs the key network infrastructure and related services upon which many other services depend.

You will responsible for systems administration and development of a number of key services. You will be working closely with colleagues and will contribute to the design, implementation, and management of systems providing critical services to the University. You will also have the opportunity of often working with Departments’ and Colleges’ IT Support staff.

Solid, measurable technical knowledge and expertise, combined with good interpersonal skills are essential pre-requisites for applicants to this post. The role would suit a highly-motivated individual with proven flexibility and initiative as well as a keen sense of diplomacy.
