SUISS Co-Director

The Scottish Universities’ International Summer School (SUISS) seeks to appoint a dynamic, innovative and outgoing Co-Director to plan, organise and implement the annual summer school. Applicants should be working in the academic field of English Literature and/ or Creative Writing. This post is available from January 2018 on an open-ended basis. Applicants who have previously tutored for SUISS are desirable.

The SUISS Co-Director works in collaboration with one other SUISS Co-Director and the SUISS Administrator to organise and deliver the annual summer school. The post holder reports to the Administrator on administrative matters concerning the coordination of SUISS publicity, marketing and promotion, student recruitment, the awarding of scholarships, creating the social/ cultural programme, the appointment of student hosts, and maintaining the SUISS website. The Co-Director is responsible for a number of important academic aspects of the programme, including accreditation of SUISS courses, organising the bi-annual publication of Northern Light, recruitment of tutors and invitations to lecturers to speak at SUISS.

This is a part time (9.8 hours per week) and open ended position
