Salary: £38,833 - £49,149 dependent on skills and experience

FTE: Full time, working 37 hours per week (1.0 fte)

Duration of Contract: 2 year Fixed Term Contract

Due to the expansion of the University of Hertfordshire’s Degree Apprenticeships programme, this exciting new post in the School of Computer Science offers the opportunity for an individual with industry and teaching experience to play a key role in the development and delivery of the School’s Cyber Security programme.

Working with a wide range of stakeholders, the successful candidate will be engaging with employers, academic staff and students to secure and manage enrolments and ensure delivery of a high quality programme that meets the Cyber Security Professional standard and industry needs.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Taking the lead on the development of a new degree apprenticeship programme, participating in quality assurance processes and reviewing module content. 
  • Teaching and supporting students, assisting with degree apprenticeship recruitment. 
  • Creating and maintaining good relationships with employers within the Cyber Security industry in order to secure enrolment opportunities.

Skills and experience needed
Applicants will need experience of, and expertise in computer network and operating system configuration, threat assessment, malware, penetration testing, information assurance as well as experience of teaching and curriculum review and development. In addition, applicants will require excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications required
Good honours degree and postgraduate professional qualification.
