Salary: £26,495 to £38,833 per annum, depending on skills and experience (minimum £29799 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance

Applications are invited for the above post in the Division of Respiratory Medicine, University of Nottingham, based at the City Hospital Campus. The successful candidate will join a team of researchers with a strong track record in the molecular and cell biological pathways involved in the pathogenesis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

This new post will carry out a research project investigating the role of integrin mediated TGFb activation in the pathogenesis of pulmonary fibrosis specifically in relation to understanding the relationship between key genetic and signalling intermediates in patients with pulmonary fibrosis compared with controls.

The successful candidate will have recently obtained a PhD (or be near completion) in a related area. They must demonstrate a skill set suitable for the post, with expertise in cell harvest, immunohistochemistry and in vivo experimentation and organoid development. A detailed understanding of epithelial cell signalling and TGF beta activation will also be required.

The role holder will be supervised by the Professor of Experimental Medicine, Prof Gisli Jenkins.

This full-time post will be offered on a fixed-term contract until 31 October 2019.
