Research Associate in Medical Statistics (DEPICT)

Full-time fixed term contract for between 22 and 24 months.

We wish to appoint a researcher to carry out quantitative statistical analyses for the DEPICT Study (Critically ill children and young people: do national Differences in access to Emergency Paediatric Intensive Care and care during Transport affect clinical outcomes and patient experience?). You will be based in the TIMMS Research Group and will work closely with Dr Padmanabhan Ramnarayan from Great Ormond Street Hospital who is leading the study. You will also work closely with paediatric critical care teams across England and Wales and the PICANet study team.

In this role you will develop and implement methodologically appropriate statistical strategies and lead and independently carry out quantitative statistical analyses of paediatric transport data. This will involve analysis of large national complex datasets, utilising advanced statistical techniques. You will also be required to contribute to presentations and scientific publications and to provide specialist and advice and support to the study team.

The ideal candidate will be educated to PhD level or have a relevant MSc plus extensive research experience. You will be experienced in carrying out quantitative statistical analyses of large perinatal or paediatric datasets and of contributing to the authorship of publications. Knowledge of data protection guidelines and good clinical practice in relation to data management are essential.
