Summary:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Development Manager in the Sheffield Institute for Translational Neuroscience (SITraN).

SITraN is a purpose built research facility which was opened in November 2010 by Her Majesty the Queen. The Institute houses clinical and basic scientists from the Department of Neuroscience and the primary focus is research into neurodegenerative disorders such as Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.

You will support academic staff within the department, overseeing pre award research activity. A particular focus of the role will be on improving the quality and success of research funding applications and supporting major multi-disciplinary or strategically important bids emerging from programme areas and specific funder strategy/development groups (e.g. Global Challenges Research Fund).

The Department, in collaboration with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, was successful in becoming a NIHR Biomedical Research Centre in Translational Neuroscience, April 2017 and was Number 1 in the UK for Biomedical research excellence.
