Disability Adviser (Specific Learning Difficulties)

UCL Student Disability Services provide a comprehensive range of support services for students who have a disability which impacts upon their studies at UCL. They support students with physical and sensory impairments, specific learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorders, mental health difficulties, and long-term health conditions. University College London Student Disability Services is looking to recruit a Disability Adviser for Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs). The post will involve providing advice, guidance and support to students with specific learning difficulties and making recommendations for the reasonable adjustments to which they are entitled. More specifically, it will also involve delivering specialist one-to-one study skills support to students with (SpLDs) and as such the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they conform to the quality assurance framework required by the Disabled Students’ Allowances Quality Assurance Group (DSA-QAG).

Applicants should have substantial experience of working on a one to one basis with students with specific learning difficulties and, preferably, autism, studying at UK universities. They should demonstrate experience of providing general advice and support to students with disabilities in a Higher Education (H.E) context.

Applicants should have full professional association membership e.g. of PATOSS or ADSHE, a degree, or equivalent comparable qualification, substantial post-qualification specialist teaching experience and a record of continuous professional development (CPD).
