Control Engineer EMSc (UK) Limited - Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Associate

Cardiff School of Engineering seeks a graduate/post graduate with strong experience and interests in control system design and implementation to undertake a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with EMSc (UK) Powerstar Limited. The Associate will be employed by Cardiff University and located in EMSc (UK) Powerstar Limited at Sheffield. The successful candidate will play a key role in transferring academic knowledge related to control and power electronics, to our industrial partner, with the specific aim of developing an integrated energy management system to monitor and control an electric vehicle charging system. In detail, this KTP project mainly comprises five technical stages, which are:

  • Requirements analysis for the Virtue Electric Vehicle (EV) System;
  • Develop technical specifications of hardware components of the Virtue EV System; Reconfigure the existing Virtue EV System;
  • Develop an integrated Energy Management System;
  • Implement and test the developed Energy Management System.

The post is full time and fixed term for 36 months.
