It’s fascinating times for our Corporate Engagement (CE) team. Our mission is to attract new and wider corporate audiences by highlighting the excellence of Imperial’s academic output, through both large-scale and exclusive events and other forms of professional services.

Within Corporate Engagement, Imperial Tech Foresight (ITF) looks ahead at how breakthrough lab discoveries today could shape the next 20 years of innovation; Imperial Business Partners (IBP) offers an exclusive membership platform for corporates to get to grips with strategic challenges and, finally, we deliver insightful corporate-focused communications content. You will work across all three functions, helping to inspire and enrich the companies that we work with, through event delivery and online communications.

In this fast paced and challenging role, you will:

  • Execute delivery of high quality corporate-style external meetings, workshops, seminars, lectures conferences and other high profile events at College and external venues.
  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on the event day and respond to last minute requests with professionalism and excellent customer service, ensuring flawless organisation and smooth running of the event.
  • Use your web and social media savvy to promote and communicate events through our on-line channels to increase participation and attendance, and maximise publicity opportunities post-event.
  • Support the CE team in coordinating workflow to a network of suppliers including design agencies, media and video production, and manage the delivery of multiple suppliers.
  • Liaise with Imperial’s relevant stakeholders, such as Imperial Conference and Events, academics, Communications and PR, catering services, Facilities and external attendees prior to and during the event, to assist in successful organisation, communication and delivery of the event.
  • Problem-solve logistical and resource issues that arise in the process of organising the event and support event communications and organisation in liaison with Imperial’s relevant stakeholders.

Experience in delivery of experiential high profile, large and/or corporate events, conferences, tradeshows, and/or senior executive small scale events is essential in this role. You will rely on your good project coordination skills as well as the ability to apply modern corporate marketing and communications methods in support of communication campaigns.

We anticipate that you will have gained this experience in a positions such as Events Coordinator / Assistant / Specialist, Corporate Events or Conference Specialist / Assistant, Marketing Specialist / Assistant, Meeting & Event Planner, Event Operations Manager, Conference Planner, Association Event Planner, Event Planner/Analyst, Exhibition Coordinator, Special Events Planner, or Convention Planner.

You will be an effective communicator with excellent time management and organisational skills. Interested in science and technology, you will be innovative, resourceful and self-directed, able to work flexibly with other members of project teams that may include academics, contract staff and external delivery partners.
