Housing Assistant

The University of Sussex Housing Services is seeking a friendly and organised person to be our Housing Assistant to help coordinate a welcoming housing enquiries and reception service: helping applicants, students, agents and residents via counter, email, telephone and social media. You will work with a small team of Housing Assistants to provide a coordinated service.

Your ideas and creativity, along with your enthusiasm and commitment to help our students in their residences is vital.

You will be responsible for logging feedback about our services and responding to routine enquiries, maintaining statistics and preparing information for colleagues.  A key part of the role will be processing financial purchase orders, running reports and helping with the allocation of accommodation for our students. Full training and support will be provided.

You will need to have a good standard of education, together with excellent organisational, communication and customer service skills. Duties will include providing front-line customer reception service, and responding to enquiries via telephone, social media, online chat and email, together with ordering stationery, maintaining documents, filing and assisting with the production of written information. 

You will join a friendly and committed team of housing professionals at a time of growth and investment in our housing portfolio of over 5,500 bed-spaces in residences on our Falmer campus and across the city. Our service is expanding to 7,500 bed-spaces by 2020, making Sussex one of the largest University accommodation providers in the UK.
