The School of Geography at Queen Mary, University of London are looking to recruit a Teaching and Learning Manager in a job share capacity (14 hours per week - 0.4 FTE) to deliver high-level, professional and comprehensive teaching and learning support within the School. The post-holder will have a strategic role in developing, influencing and strengthening the School’s teaching and learning capacity, continuously improving and optimising administrative operations by streamlining systems specifically for the School’s UG degree programmes.

This includes the efficient running of the teaching and learning office; policy and procedures development and managing the quality control of all aspects of undergraduate teaching and learning, including quality assurance, exams and admissions. They will work as part of the School’s administrative team, ensuring an effective and efficient delivery of service to current students and academic staff.

Candidates will hold an honours degree or equivalent relevant qualification or experience. Highly developed experience of teaching and learning matters in HEIs and significant undergraduate administrative experience, including admissions, assessments, programme administration and timetabling are a must. Applicants must be able to make decisions effectively, have excellent problem-solving and organisational skills, in addition to being able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels. Experience at working efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines, with a high level of accuracy is also essential.

The post is part-time (0.4 FTE, 14 hours per week on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) and until 15th October 2018, with an expected start of 1st November 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. The starting salary will be £14,670 per annum (40% of £36,677 per annum) inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days (pro rata) annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
