Research Associate/Fellow in Polymer Therapeutics and Pharmaceutical Science (Fixed-Term)

An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated scientist aiming for an independent research career has arisen via an EPSRC Impact Fellowship in Radiotherapy Activated Materials awarded to Professor Cameron Alexander. The overall goals of the programme are to evaluate materials which exploit radiotherapy-induced changes in cancer cell biology and this post will offer an experienced post-doctoral scientist the opportunity to help direct this work and related other polymer therapeutics projects within Professor Alexander’s group. The successful applicant will work on the design and biological evaluation of novel polymers and drug delivery systems, and will co-supervise post-docotral researchers and PhD students on the projects.

Applicants will have published high quality papers in pharmaceutical and/or biological science and have a proven strong interest in the chemistry-pharmacy-medical interface. A knowledge of both chemistry and cell biology techniques is highly desirable. Candidates should have a PhD submitted or awarded in biochemistry, cell biology, pharmacy, or related disciplines, or peer-reviewed research papers and a thesis submitted, as well as prior experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams.

This full-time post is offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 15 months.
