An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the ELECTRIC (ELECtric Tibial nerve stimulation to Reduce Incontinence in Care homes) trial team based at Glasgow Caledonian University. The ELECTRIC trial is one of a number of studies in our Ageing Well Research Group and contributes to an ongoing programme of research on Continence Promotion.

Funded by the NIHR HTA programme this multisite RCT will be undertaken in 20 care homes across the North of England and Central belt of Scotland. We are seeking two experienced Registered Nurses – based in each geographical area. Travelling between a number of homes at any one time, you will undertake and effectively manage recruitment of residents and all data collecting activities in participating care homes.

You will possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable communicating with older adults who lack capacity and their families, as well as liaising with care staff of all levels and grades. You will also demonstrate exceptional organisational skills to work with care home staff, residents, and family carers to ensure data are collected according to the study protocol and strict deadlines. Previous research experience is highly desirable but not essential, however an understanding of Good Clinical Practice to ensure adherence to the ELECTRIC trial protocol is critical.
