Chief Data Technologist

The University of Edinburgh is seeking to recruit a Chief Data Technologist who will be a key member a new team responsible for developing, promoting, and delivering an industry engagement programme through the new Bayes Centre for Data Technology.

The new Bayes Centre, set to open in 2018, will co-locate data-driven research and innovation groups within the University alongside external industry partners.

Operating at a senior and specialist level, the Chief Data Technologist will lead on, facilitate, and enable the adoption of state-of-the-art data science and technology (by industry) to foster new collaborative partnerships between internal research groups and industry partners.

As a senior technical authority, you will play a vital role in growing and delivering data science and technology expertise within the Bayes Centre and wider University, which will involve managing and influencing stakeholders (both within the University of Edinburgh and Industrial partners) to elicit and scope requirements, defining the technical architectures and partnerships, as well as developing and delivering novel and innovative solutions.

This role is full-time, fixed-term, and available from 15th November 2017 to 31st December 2020 (with the possibility of extension).

Interviews will be held in early November.

Salary range: £50,618 - £56,950.
