We are seeking a Principal Lecturer to lead our Masters courses in Fashion Communications, Fashion Marketing, International Fashion Management and Luxury Fashion Brand Management. Within this role you will be responsible for the academic management and curricula development and will be required to teach and supervise predominantly on the Postgraduate courses but also, where required, contribute to the Undergraduate courses within the Department of Fashion Management, Marketing and Communication. You will also be required to contribute to the continual development of the FMMC Department and serve on Schoolwide committees as assigned by the Head of Department. Responsibilities will include managing and developing the academic team, day to day management and overseeing teaching, learning and assessment and ensuring that student satisfaction remains high.  

You will contribute to the research and practice of Fashion Management, Marketing and Communication and demonstrate a proven record of research outcomes and scholarly activity.

As a strong communicator committed to leading a team to deliver high quality education within the subject area, you will have an in depth understanding of Global Fashion Industry principles and practice.

  • Business and Marketing Strategy
  • Fashion Marketing and Communication
  • Consumer Buying Behaviour
  • Market Research and Insights Analysis
  • Globalisation
  • Fashion landscape (structures, job roles and skill requirements)
  • Knowledge and understanding of theory and contextual studies

Candidates must be educated to a minimum of undergraduate degree level in Fashion Management, Marketing and Communication or an equivalent subject with relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent work experience combined with professional memberships and/or qualifications. There should be a willingness to complete your HEA level 2 in Professional Recognition (if not already held) within three years of appointment.
