The School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh is seeking to recruit a Proposal Development Manager who will be a key to be a key member of the team which will develop the proposal for a follow-on programme building on existing industry engagement activities of the University’s new Bayes Centre for Data Technology.

The Bayes Innovation Programme through Project B is expected to be a multi-million pound programme expected to deliver substantial Gross Value Add (GVA) over a five to seven year period.

It will be a major factor in the success of the University’s investment of c£40m in the new Bayes Centre for Data Technology which will accommodate 600 staff from a number of the University’s Schools and divisions, in addition to industry research and development teams.

The Bayes Centre will co-locate data-driven research and innovation, based within the University of Edinburgh, alongside external industry partners. Bayes will promote and develop Edinburgh’s strength in Data Science, Interaction, Robotics and Systems and will focus on establishing new relationships and opportunities.

This is a key role that will play a pivotal role in securing longer-term funding for the new Bayes Innovation Programme focused on generating significant value for the University and wider City of Edinburgh region. The successful candidate will work within the Bayes Centre in central Edinburgh, which is due to open in Summer 2018, interacting with colleagues across university groups such as Informatics, Design Informatics, Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre, The Data Lab and Edinburgh Innovations.

This post is full-time and fixed term for 6 months. The post is available from 1 November 2017.
