Research Finance Administrator

An opportunity has arisen for a permanent term post in a busy dynamic environment within Research Finance at the University of Birmingham.

The post holder will provide financial management and administration relating to a number of externally and internally funded research awards, including (but not limited to) Research Councils, European Commission, Charities and overseas funders. 

Duties will include costing and pricing applications, processing offers and maintaining appropriate award project management, completing claims and invoices in accordance with funder requirements and dealing with adhoc queries.   Be a key player in offering advice and resolutions around a number of research related financial matters and be expected to develop a detailed working knowledge across the spectrum of funder terms and conditions and communicate them to stakeholders.

It is desirable, but not essential that the post holder has relevant experience within an accountancy or financial environment and ideally you will have some formal relevant training eg AAT or the equivalent. The post holder will possess initiative and have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and be able to organize a varied workload and work to strict deadlines.

It would advantageous for the post holder to have experience of Microsoft and to have worked in a demanding environment.
