An exciting opportunity exists to join the Automation Systems Group, part of the world renowned WMG at the University of Warwick to undertake research. Our focus is on projects within our High Value Manufacturing Centre and for other WMG related R&D projects associated with the implementation of new digital manufacturing systems in an Industry 4.0 context.
Are you interested in being involved in shaping the Smart Factory of the future and the UK’s role in the manufacture of innovative products? WMG is looking to recruit people for our Automation Systems Group (ASG) which, via our HVM Catapult Centre, is striving to achieve a step-change in the way manufacturing systems are designed, implemented and operated in an integrated, digital world. You will assist in the delivery of research work in the realisation of innovative prototype manufacturing systems.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience of automation systems and manufacturing process engineering in an industrial context, coupled with the ability to actively engage with industry collaborators and project partners. Your research and contribution to the projects will also support the work of the Department and develop and enhance its reputation, both internal and external to the University.
You will possess a good honours degree (2.1 or above) or equivalent in an engineering or related discipline, together with a serious appetite to engage in project delivery. If you have what it takes to succeed at the interface between industry and academia in cutting edge research, and a demonstrable understanding of manufacturing then we would like to hear from you. In return we will provide you with a great range of benefits which include an attractive pension scheme, 30 days holiday plus Christmas closure, some fantastic savings on a wide range of products and services, and excellent learning and development opportunities.
