Library Services are provided to the School of Health Sciences students and staff at the University's main Northampton Square campus.

City seeks to recruit a Subject Librarian (Health Sciences) to promote and develop services to the Schools and departments serviced by City Library Services in support of the learning, teaching and research objectives of the university.


The successful candidate will liaise and develop contacts with designated Schools and Departments in relation to promoting and to gathering feedback on Library Services. They will participate with ongoing collection management and development including monitoring and evaluating health resources to support students and represent Library Services at relevant meetings.

The successful candidate will inform and assist in projects undertaken by Library Services, and will be involved with induction of both staff and students, and contribute to developing, delivering and evaluating Digital and Information Literacy programmes for students and staff.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have a CILIP accredited qualification in librarianship or information management or equivalent experience in a library role. You will have knowledge of health resources, excellent organisational skills and a proven ability to plan and undertake a range of tasks and manage your workload effectively. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and customer service experience that will enable you to interact with library users, colleagues, academic staff, researchers and other stakeholders inside and outside the university.
