Student Experience Manager

Do you have substantial experience of working in an administrative role in the HE Sector? Do you have a background in supervising, leading and training staff? If so this could be the perfect role for!

As a Student Experience Manger you will manage all student related administration within the School of Computing ensuring that academic colleagues and students receive excellent support from the administration team and that administration standards meet University quality assurance guidelines.

As a key member of the School’s administrative team, you will work closely with the School Administration Manager and key academic role holders, to deliver the service through a team of administrative staff, working in all areas of student administration, across two campuses.

As a Student Experience Manger you will:

  • Undertake a range of duties, in compliance with relevant employment policies, related to the recruitment, selection and ongoing management of own team to ensure that each team member is motivated and supported in making a positive contribution to support academic staff and students in the School.
  • Provide comprehensive support to academic colleagues in the School, liaising with central departments as necessary, to ensure that processes are managed effectively and in accordance with University Regulations.
  • Review regularly all processes and practices, liaising with other Schools and Central departments as necessary, to improve the support provided to academic colleagues and students.

To succeed in this role you will have:

A First degree or equivalent experience of working in a similar role within HE and be educated to GCSE English or maths or equivalent.

  • Experience of working with university systems, such as the Student Data System, and an appreciation of university processes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of University regulations, policies and procedures relating to academic administration, (e.g. Credit Framework for Taught Programmes, University Codes of Practice for Quality Assurance, Regulations) and experience of applying these.
  • The ability to assess outcomes of work and constantly review processes to improve them.
