UKRI Innovation Fellowship/Rutherford Fund Fellowship

University of Liverpool - Faculty of Health and Life Sciences

The University of Liverpool seeks to recruit an outstanding postdoctoral scientist who is looking to establish their own independent research career. This prestigious award will provide a salary plus running expenses for 3 years, and enable the appointee to establish their own research programme at the University of Liverpool. Applications are welcomed from candidates with a background in a quantitative discipline (statistics, applied mathematics, computer science), who may have had little or no exposure to health research. You should have a PhD in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or related discipline.

The award may be held in any part of the University but must be focused on one of the following Industrial Strategy priority areas: Bioscience for Health (including lifelong health, nutrition for health, one health, and biotechnology for health) and Bio economy. There is flexibility in the area of research to be undertaken, but the following application areas will be prioritised for this appointment: stratified medicine, infection, regenerative medicine and public health.

We encourage applications for our Fellowships from across the global community and all appointments are made solely on merit. The University of Liverpool is committed to promoting equality and diversity, including the Athena SWAN charter for promoting women’s careers in STEMM subjects (science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine) in higher education. The University has a Silver Award for its commitment to gender equality in the workplace and we welcome applications from a diverse range of backgrounds. The post is available until 14 November 2020 commencing no later than 15 November 2017.
