Analyst Developer

The Analyst Developer is expected to carry out 2nd and 3rd line support and small works developments for applications within the Estates Support team. This team supports a range of applications which include in-house developed Java/Spring applications, a number of COTS systems, a range of PHP systems and a system. The business areas cover Room Bookings and Timetabling, Accommodation, Space and Maintenance, and ID cards.

The applicant will be expected to carry out a number of varied tasks - typical tasks would include responding to user requests/incidents via the Remedyforce tool, creating new users, troubleshooting user issues, writing SQL reports, bug fixing, carrying out software upgrades, testing and co-ordinating testing, writing technical specifications, creating and maintaining support documentation, liaising with users and some development work.

The essential technical requirements of the role are:

  • Oracle SQL
  • Oracle PL/SQL

Experience of supporting off the shelf business Applications Desirable technical requirements are:

  • PHP
  • SQLServer
  • Java/Spring

Essential soft skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication good team working ability to elicit requirements from users ability to prioritise workload good problem solving.
