The Post

Stirling Management School offers a creative and inspirational environment for all staff. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Business & Management (Innovation, Analytics & Operations). The level of appointment (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor) is dependent on experience and evidencing how the relevant criteria has been met.

We are looking for outstanding academics with an international research profile and a passion for, and experience of, innovative teaching in the areas of Business and Management (Innovation, Analytics & Operations). The post offers exciting and motivating prospects for the right candidate as the School operates a transparent workload model that recognises all teaching and academic administration activities and protects 40% research time.

The University operates a form of devolved financial system so resources flow to the Management School and Management, Work and Organisation Division according to recruitment and needs. Computing and teaching facilities are excellent, as is the newly refurbished library. Staff are strongly encouraged and supported to attend conferences, and to network internationally. Workloads are comparatively light within the semester though there is requirement for supervision of dissertations and projects across the year. A University research leave scheme allows focussed time for specific research projects.

Description of Duties

The main activities of the post holder are as follows:

  • Deliver research of top quality and publish internationally recognised journals in the area of Business and Management
  • Provide innovative teaching and course leadership inputs in the area of Innovation, Analytics and Operations across a range of postgraduate and undergraduate programmes
  • Apply for external research funding and build collaborative and interdisciplinary research teams
  • Contribute to the overall success of the operation and growth of the School
