Manchester Metropolitan University - Student Lifecycle Administrative Services

End date or duration: 27 September 2019

Advert details:

Department

Student Lifecycle Administrative Services provides professional support to students and colleagues across the whole student lifecycle - from enrolment and induction, to exams, and final award for undergraduate, postgraduate and research students. We deliver sector-leading services, providing outstanding levels of support to Faculties and 37,000 students, including collaborative partners both inside and outside the UK.

Service enhancement, both to the students and the academic community is fundamental to everything we do, and informs our strong culture of continuous improvement and customer-focussed delivery.

Role

We are seeking to recruit an Administrator to join our Awards and Conferments Team. The post holder will have a specialist focus on supporting our Awards and Systems Officer in the processing of student data for awards and conferments, and assisting the development and enhancement of systems to support the awards and conferments process. You will also work flexibly across the team, working on a variety of tasks and processes, including verifications, certificates, transcripts, and award ceremonies organisation. The post holder will provide first level information and advice to students and colleagues in relation to our award and conferments process, and also our awards ceremonies process and organisation.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced administrator to take on a key organisational role, or for someone who wants to build on their existing Higher Education administrative experience. Previous experience in an administrative role is essential, as is the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively to achieve team results to complete tasks and projects. You will also contribute to the Awards and Conferments team, and Student? Lifecycle Administrative Services as a whole, through participation in student-facing functions and will be involved in project and development work.

For an informal discussion regarding the requirements of the role, please contact Caroline Rigby, Head of Student Lifecycle Administrative Services (c.rigby@mmu.ac.uk).

Ideal Candidate

You will be able to deliver a professional support service in relation to all aspects of the awards and conferments function, providing specialist advice and guidance to administration staff, academic staff and students. You will have previous experience working in an administrative role (preferably in Higher Education) and will be highly proficient in working with standard office IT applications, especially Excel and Access.
