Additional Information: This post is part time, working 18.5 hours per week. This is a permanent post.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Management Accountant with Research Grant and Contract experience.

You will be self-motivated and proactive qualified accountant or CCAB finalist looking for the next step in your career. Whilst previous experience in managing contracts in the public sector is highly desirable, consideration will be given to applicants wanting to develop their career portfolio who can demonstrate excellent technical accounting skills acquired in either an accounting practice or in a demanding commercial environment.

The opportunity is to work as part of the university’s Finance Business Partnering team to:

  • Be responsible for the costing of research grants submissions;
  • Be responsible for internal research projects administration and reporting;
  • Be responsible for external reporting of awarded grants and contracts, dealing with a variety of external funding bodies including H2020;
  • Provide financial advice and management information to the Dean and stakeholders within the School;
  • Support the Finance Business Partner in ensuring financial objectives met; and
  • Undertake ad hoc projects and other related duties as required.

You will be commercially aware with a proven track record in dealing with and influencing stakeholders, presenting complex financial information to all levels of management and have excellent team working skills. You should be able to show an ability to challenge accepted assumptions and deliver a first-class customer service.
