Research Fellow

Applicants are invited to apply for a Research Fellow position in a Lily Foundation Charity funded project aimed at developing oral modified release and intravenous formulations of nicotinamide riboside (NR).

The applicant will assess the mechanism of action the uptake / absorption of NR in in vitro human cell assays. They will also explore the alternative formulation development strategies and endeavor to develop and validate bioanalytical method for NR. This will be followed by in silico characterisation of the pharmacokinetics using pharmacokinetic modelling techniques.

Subject to the regulations of the funding bodies appropriately qualified members of research staff will be expected to contribute to teaching or other departmental activities. At the present time this is estimated to amount to an absolute maximum of thirty contact teaching hours per annum for full time staff.

The post is available for 15 months in the first instance.

Applicants must have a PhD in a pharmaceutical sciences discipline, or have submitted a thesis prior to taking up the appointment. They must have experience of cell culture, analytical method and formulation development and PK modelling studies.
