Post-doctoral Research Associate: Genome-wide approaches to study transcription (2 positions)

These opportunities arise through Prof Jussi Taipale commencing as the new Herchel Smith Professor of Biochemistry. The Taipale group will continue to work on transcriptional regulation; specifically, to understand how DNA sequences determine where and when genes are expressed. This effort will support the group in their second systems-level research area of elucidating control of tissue and organism growth. The research of the group will have impact on both the fundamental understanding of the regulation of gene expression, and on knowledge of the mechanisms that control cell growth during normal development and in pathologies such as cancer.

  • Genome-wide approaches to study transcription (2 positions)

Successful candidates will have a PhD in Genetics, Biochemistry, Systems Biology, Computational Biology, Medicine or a related field. Applicants interested in any of the above research areas and/or interested in developing a novel research direction will be considered.

The selection processes will be conducted in November and the posts be available from 1st March 2018. Funding for all positions is initially 24 months.
