An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Community Performance/Applied Theatre at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. We are looking for a dynamic person who enjoys teaching to join our thriving team. 

The role holder will be responsible for working on the BA Drama, Applied Theatre and Education degree programme and MA Applied Theatre course.  The role holder will teach, assess and plan a range of units while ensuring the currency of the curriculum. 

Applicants will enjoy teaching and learning, have excellent teaching ability in HE contexts, as well as a proven significant professional profile in Applied Theatre along with high quality research output in international contexts and experience in Knowledge Exchange/Knowledge Transfer. We would be particularly interested in Practice-As-Research experience, including workshop development.

Applications are encouraged from those with a profile in socially engaged arts practice and arts and social justice, particularly focusing on international intervention at conflict sites and with expertise in the global South. Expertise with communities of colour and notions of racialized bodily practises are desirable. Experience in the conservatory sector is strongly encouraged, as well as with theatre companies and spaces throughout the UK and evidence of a track record of external funding applications highly desirable.
