Editorial Assistant (Part Time, Fixed Term)

University of Bath - Politics, Languages & International Studies

Political Studies Review is seeking to appoint an Editorial Assistant to manage the publication systems, manuscript handling, assist in the compilation of journal issues, alongside correspondence with authors, referees, editorial board members and the publishers. The postholder will be required to provide administrative information to the publishers as needed and be responsible for ensuring that the content is processed within suitable timeframes. The ideal candidate will therefore be able to prioritise their workload and work to tight deadlines but will also ensure that tasks are performed with speed and accuracy.

The postholder is expected to work closely with the Editors in chief and the editorial team to ensure the smooth running of the journal. As such, the postholder will need to have excellent organisational skills, be highly enthusiastic, demonstrate appropriately high levels of autonomy and initiative, be able to work within a team and meet daily deadlines, possess the ability to multi-task and be self-motivated with a calm, professional approach and can-do attitude. Editorial experience in using ScholarOne Manuscripts is required.

This is a part-time, fixed term (0.4 FT, 14.6 hours) position for one year that will commence in November 2017 and have an expected end date of 31/10/2018.

It is expected that interviews will take place on Monday October 30th, 2017.

Please contact Dr Isabelle Engeli (i.engeli@bath.ac.uk) if you require any further information about the post.
