Laboratory Manager - Quantum Nanodevices

We are looking for a Laboratory Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Quantum Nanotechnologies Laboratory. You will possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the area of cryogenic systems, microwave electronics, and nanofabrication to support the experimental facilities on a daily basis. The position is available for a fixed-term to 31 December 2021. 

You will be responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing equipment in the laboratory. You will provide training and practical supervision of external users, students and other researchers, and be responsible for ensuring there is a strong safety culture in the laboratory. You will provide ongoing support to research projects in the Quantum Nanomaterials Laboratory.

You will have significant engineering and technical expertise and experience, ideally supported by a postgraduate degree in physics, materials science, engineering or a related area. Good communication skills are also essential, including the ability to train all levels of users in the use of this specialised equipment, and to write training and other manuals. Ability to start by January 2018 would be desirable.
