Massey Business School is one of the largest business schools in New Zealand, with over 11,000 students and around 300 academic and professional staff. The School of Management, which is housed in the Massey Business School, invites applications from academic scholars who are researching in the area of Sport Management. This full-time permanent position is based at the University's Auckland campus, in Albany. Having presence across three campuses; Auckland, Manawatu and Wellington, you will be expected to deliver cross-campus teaching across all levels and supervise research students.

To be successful in appointment, you will have a PhD or equivalent in Sport Management or complementary field, demonstrated teaching and research expertise and a track record of research outputs. You will also have experience and/or commitment to engaging with the business community to create research and learning opportunities. A proven ability to secure external research funds and/or engage effectively with business audiences would be an advantage.

You will be expected to plan, develop, research and teach in the Sport Management academic discipline and will have a flexible and innovative approach to learning and teaching.

You will have the ability to contribute to a range of sport management subject areas including courses such as:

  • Sport in the Social Context
  • Sociology of Sport and Exercise
  • Critical Issues in Sport Management
  • Sport Event Management
  • Foundations of International Sport Management
