Doctoral Student Position in Control Engineering

Aalto University - Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation

In the marine applications the demands for energy savings and reductions of emissions are more and more important for the large engine manufacturers and operators.  The field is emerging towards autonomous ships, which are controlled by efficient control algorithms, where adaptation, machine learning and generally digitalization are the key components.  Control-oriented algorithms are of utmost importance in the development of general hybrid automation and holistic combustion control systems in the naval industry.  The work towards hybridization of the overall controls of ships is currently on-going worldwide in co-operation with marine industry, research centers and universities.
